A Maya Mist Tutorial

So we have started shipping out our Maya Mists to Retailers - make sure you are on the look out for them. They are going fast! When you get yours, be sure to try out this cool technique with them. We created some "snow birds" at the CHA-S tradeshow for a quick make and take! Lisa Pace designed this for us for the tradeshow.

First, place your Chipboard Snowflakes on top of a page from the Bird Coaster Album. Completely cover the bird and snowflakes using Blue Maya Mist, and remove the Chipboard Snowflakes setting them aside. Next, lightly spray the bird using Silver Metallic Maya Mist. Once it is dry you can outline your sprayed snowflakes using white and black pens. To finish it off just tie some sheer ribbon through the hole to create a hanger. Maya Road has a new Sheer Ribbon that has Silver Snowflakes that would work perfectly.

Now try spraying the back of the bird with the Silver Metallic Mist only

You can spray the Chipboard Snowflakes you used as a mask with the Silver Metallic Maya Mist to add some shimmer or leave them a matte finish and just outline them using a black and white pen.

And did you know that you can use the base colors of the Maya Mists on clothing/fabric? Just spray, allow to dry 24 hours then heat set on the hottest setting or run it through the dryer!

I am so excited for the Maya mists! I can't wait to get my hands on them!

They are awesome...I've been working with them here at home and am having a blast. Got a couple of things that I have done with the Mists and am super impressed with them!! I'll probably share later some tips and ideas....!!

Ow wow, that's great stuff!!

I used the charcoal Maya Mist to change some generic white lace into a VERY cool vintage looking color. The lace was inexpensive...but changing the color...WOW!! It looks so much better. Since it was for a card, I just dried it with the heat tool...done...quick & easy!
I LOVE this stuff!!

That looks wonderful! I love mist sprays, can't wait for this to hit the stores! As long as the spray bottle really works, I'm game ;)
