Time for A Bright Idea!

One of our talented DT members designed this super cool Luminary Box - when we first saw it we couldn't believe our eyes. Check this out for yourself.

Shelley transformed one of our secret boxes into this:

When we all first saw it, we were wondering if it would be a fire hazard - a tea light in a little box but then Shelley shared with us a secret:

Shelley used a battery powered light to make this!

Supply List:

MR supplies

secret or treasure box

double stitched ribbon (red and green),

Ric Rac ribbon (red), sequin trimming (red)

felt beaded flowers (red)

jewel topped pins

Non MR supplies
evergreen pipecleaners and bells

metal snowflakes 

snowflake die cut paper

battery operated candle 

heat embossing powder Ranger Ink (holographic),

white acrylic paint

embossing ink (clear)

Instructions:

1. Paint Maya Road box white (inside and out).

2. Put embossing ink all flat surfaces of box and apply heat embossing powder. Heat. This makes the box all shimmery!

3. Trim box with MR ribbon, sequins, evergreen pipecleaners.

4. Create "tree" with ribbon pieces
5. Place  pins on either side of box (top) and string floss with bells and snowflakes. Place felt flowers.                      

6. Cut a piece of die cut paper and place on inside of box window.

7. Place battery operated light inside box and close lid. Now you have a beautiful and safe luminary (but still keep an eye on it!)
