Embellished Hair Pins
Supplies:
Maya Road Trinket Seasons Ribbons
Maya Road Sheer Cupcake Ribbon
Maya Road Jewel Flowers
Maya Road Blossoms
Tealight Candle
Bobby Pins
Little Clothes Pins
Chopsticks
Heatgun
Needle
Thread
Glue Dots
Instructions:
Spiral Hair Clip
Trim six ribbon pieces to 6 inches.
Quickly run the ends of each piece under a candle to seal the edges which will prevent fraying.
Using a little clothespin, clip the end of one of your ribbons to the chopstick.
Wrap around spiral style until entire length of ribbon is wrapped around chopstick; clip with another little clothespin to keep in place. You should be able to get two lengths on each chopstick. Repeat with your other ribbon pieces.
Turn on your heat gun and *heat* ribbon until it feels warm to the touch. About 45 second per side. Repeat with all ribbon strands.
Once completely cooled remove clothes pins. You can *re-heat* your ribbon to achieve a smaller spiral.
If you don't have a heat gun you can always use your toaster oven! I just put my ribbon chopsticks in at 100 for 5 minutes. Don't let it overcook...or else it melts ;)
Lay your ribbon pieces on your work surface and run a needle through the centre of each piece.
Wrap thread around 3 times; stitch a couple of times to keep in place. Insert bobby pin into thread loop.
Sheer Bow Clip
Trim a piece of Sheer Ribbon to 5 inches.
Fold one side in 1 ¾ of an inch.
Fold the other side so the entire length is 2 inches.
Insert threaded needed into the centre point, making sure that your needle is going through the three layers of sheer ribbon. Make a stitch in the sheer ribbon and pull until snug.
Wrap thread around bow centre about 5 times and tie a knot.
Insert bobby pin.
Attach a jewel in the centre using a glue dot.
Blossom Clip
Make about 3 stitches on the back of your Blossom to form a loop.
Tie knot
Insert bobby pin.
