Hello, Maya Road fans. It's me Jennifer here again.
After creating a counting book with the Chipboard 5x7 Tab Binder, I had a few pages left over. Today, I'd like to share an idea for using up those left over album pages, that you might have too!
- To start this project, cut off about an inch, or so from the bottom of each page, so they look similar to the first picture on the left.
- Glue the two pages together, to look like the center photo seen above. Then draw and cut out two small rectangles, as shown. Round the corner if desired. (This will give you the base for your card.)
- Cut one more page, to the same shape and size for the back of your card. Draw a vertical line about three quarters of an inch in from the left side then score it.
- After you have covered all sides of the card with patterned paper, rub ons and other embellies, attach the front section to the back, so your card card stand up.
Here's the finished gift card holder, embellished with chipboard shapes to create a clown face. Of course, the possibilities are endless for this project. Originally, I was thinking of saving the idea and making a Frankenstein head for Halloween, but my son recently had a birthday and I ending up going with this clown idea instead.
After covering the nose and circles on the hat with patterned paper, I covered them with an acrylic sealer for a glossy shine. I also used the sealer on the chipboard letters and then lightly sprinkled a little glitter on top.
Here's the inside of the gift card holder. Don't forget to cover the back of your chipboard pieces as well, for a nice finished look.
