Maya Road's canvas line rocks! I love the canvas albums, tags, and banners. I have stamped on them, embossed them, misted them with Maya Road Mist, and ironed on them. Today I am going to share with you a quick and easy way to get a vintage look to your Maya Road canvas banner!
For my project I used the Canvas Pennant Banner (early CHA release), Maya Road chipboard letters (Philadelphia uppercase), fabric, lace trim, Maya Road Star pins (early CHA release),acrylic paint, crackle medium, tea bags, and a fabric adhesive!
First take 8-10 teas bags and boil them in a large pot of water. (Add more or less tea bags to achieve the desired darkness or lightness of stain). Add your canvas banners/trim to the water and let them sit for and hour or until you get the desired color. Rinse the canvas with cold water and let the canvas dry. While you are waiting for you canvas to dry, paint your letters and then appy the crackle medium of your choice! ( I used Helmar's 2 step crackle medium) Cut your fabric to the size and shape that you want it and apply to your canvas banner. Add your letters and embellishments. The result is a vintage look to your canvas project! The crackled letters add to the vintage effect!
I spelled "JULY 4" with my letters and banner pieces! I hope you like this project and will try it yourself on your next Maya Road canvas album, banner, or tag!!

Love tea bags, but what really caught my eye was the flocking or glitter you used... perfect.
