My Wishes for You

One of the most fun things about creating minibooks is coming up with a consistent formula across the book and then changing up each page just a little bit. It allows you to complete a project quickly and still have a coherent and pretty project.

I love the canvas minibooks more than just about anytihng. I love that they are fully customizable and it's all just a matter of your imagination. Here's a book I worked on a few months ago:

I followed a simple formula for this book. First, I painted each page with pink, red, or blue paint.

Then I added another layer on each page using a different colored paint and my sequin waste to make the circles on the background.

Then I stitched around each of the stars with black thread. My background pages were now complete.

I then picked a bunch of different chipboard butterflies and inked them black.  Then I stamped my kraft tickets with numbers for each of my wishes and wrote the word "wish" on each.

Then I took a few Mini Kraft Jotter tags and wrote my wishes for my children on each.

The next step was to adhere the butterflies to the pages, I did this by stitching them on each page. I didn't care that you can see the stitchmarks on the back, too. I feel that just adds more layers, texture and fun. Once the butterflies were stitches, I added the wish tags right next to them and put my journaling tags on the opposite side. I then placed a star in the middle of each butterfly. To keep it consistent, I made sure my stars were pink, red and blue, too.

For the back, I just added one more ticket and a chipboard "love" that I also painted blue. A little black trim through the holes and my album was done!

and here's another finished look. A simple album that was quick and fun to put together.
