I love fabrics, thread, ribbons, and trims. I always have and can remember in my teen years that I found fulfilling quiet time with a needle and thread to be so soothing and inspirational. Maya Road certainly does not fail to please me with the many textiles in their collection of products.
The new Frayed Edge Pleated Trim and Canvas Shipping Tags seen here are a textile lovers dream... then add in the new Linen Burlap Trim and flowers and I am in heaven! One of my favorites from Maya Road is still the Canvas Albums. I love them all made up into an album, but I also like to use the canvas pages individually in my projects like I did for a banner that I made recently.
The base of my banner is made from a vintage hand towel and then it is loaded up with little mini canvases made from several of the coaster albums.
I treated each canvas page as you would a tag or a card that you are embellishing. Trinket Blossoms were used to create a few flower gardens with embroidered stitches added for stems and french knots embellish the Crushed Velvet Ribbon and Ric Rac.
I even turned one of the canvas pages into a house by adding a roof and a door made from a Mini Chipboard Scalloped Frame. Vintage Paper Posies, one of the new Tiny Rulers and a Wood Bingo Motif piece adds to the "curb appeal".
Lots of the new Mini Organza Roses Trim was used to pretty up the piece. I think it will probably be one of those things that I can't use enough of because the roses are the perfect size for trimming up so many things and I adore the netting edge. Along one edge of the Roses Trim I added some embroidered cross stitches, but you could even machine sew some stitching there to add another bit of detail to your projects.
The Home Word Chipboard Album was used to make the "Home" on the banner. I added fabric, paper, a Medallion Flower for the "o" and some hand stitching there also.
I loved the Bird Chipboard Coaster Book the first minute I saw it, so I wanted to used one of the pages too. I machine stitched a piece of muslin onto it then used a Scallop Mini Banner pieces for a wing and Crystal Star Trinket Pin for a lovely little flourish.
There are so many Maya Road items on this banner that I'm sure I'll forget to link something. It was so much fun to make and to see all of the wonderful product come together all in one place. Be on the lookout for some of the new products that I used here and for the many other things in the CHA Winter Release. You can go check them out at the Company Blog HERE .... happy creating!
