Hi everyone!
At the beginning of 2011, I wanted to learn how to Art Journal. So I spent all of that year creating as many art journal pages as I could. Somewhere along the line, I fell in love with it and did it again and again and I haven't stopped.
This year, I wanted to challenge myself and try something new, so I created a project that I call Journey into Collage. I bought a Moleskine Sketch notebook and, once a week, I try to create a page that involves some kind of collage. Some weeks are more collage-y than others but I keep trying and experimenting.
A few weeks ago, I wanted to experiment with a new Maya Road stamp and some chipboard alphas that had just come in the mail and here's what I ended up with:
I love how loud and happy the colors are and how well they contrast with the black and white photos.
and I love all the little bits and pieces of embellishments that allow me to create layers and color.
and, of course, the super-awesome stamp that started it all.
and here's a sideways look so you can see all the layers and the depth and texture they create:
So there you go. I am not sure this qualifies as a collage. I don't really know what qualifies as a collage. But I know that it was really fun to create. You can see my other Journey into Collage pages here. And, this week, try something new. You never know, you might end up loving it and discovering a brand new way to create art!
Thank you for letting me share,

This is gorgeous! Love the bright vivid colors as well as how much open space there is and the polaroidesque photos.
