Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've blogged for Maya Road, but today it's my turn and I have a quick project to share. I love Maya Road wood doily die-cuts and recently decided to try coating a few of them with my favorite Krylon Catalina Mist spray paint. The results were beautiful! The paint soaked quickly into the wood and in no time at all, the doilies were dry and ready for me to alter and embellish.
For this particular card, after painting my wood doily, I added spray adhesive and a sprinkling of Mica Flakes to add some sparkle and shine...I love the results. Light distressing around the edges brought in the weathered/aged look, which is a perfect look for these beautiful and intricate wood doilies.
I layered the doily over a tag stamped with a beautiful image from the Timeless Memories stamp set and then got busy topping it with a few of my favorite Maya Road embellishments such as folded Mauve daises, heart trinket pins, velvet trim, etc. When you have something as beautiful as the doily to begin with, you don't need much to finish it off. So, grab your spray paint and your Maya Road wood die cuts and see what you can create!
Thanks for your visit.
