Hello Roadies!
Ania here with a little confession.... I just love giving small treats away when convenient. Especially when it comes to edible treats... I mean. The best part when doing this (other than getting to cook...which I must admit I love) - is that you can "dress" up your giveaways with your scrapbooking stuff!
Take the other day. I learned that while I was on vacation, a colleague of mine turned 50. And because she's such a sweet, genuine woman (and ok, let's face it...I was on vacation...I actually had time to do something nice =) ) I decided I'd give her a little treat when I returned to work.
I made her a batch of Sea Salt and Honey Caramel sauce, and dressed up the jar w/various Maya Road embellishments :) I mean - hello, aren't the hexagon chipboard shapes perfect for stuff involving honey? *smile*
And the cording twines are as thick as regular cooking twines, making them the perfect additions for such projects like this (here: Clementine Orange and Celery Green). I didn't originally intend to add the Linen Burlap Trim to the project, I was rather pondering how to add it to the lid..when it dawned on me...uhm..it's the perfect width and material to have around the jar like this, with the cording twine on top...can't believe I didn't see that at first *cough*.
And ok, I know..I should have used the bee-stamp from this set, it'd be more in theme, but I just adore the Ornate Vintage Butterfly stamps so much that I opted to use one of these instead....*smile*
And psst! You can win the Ornate Vintage Butterfly stamps if you're real quick! Just head over to the Maya Road FB page!
For the lid I decided to attach the new tu-tu tulle in beige behind the velvet pleat in brown. Adds a little detail to the single pleat, doesn't? :)
Hmmm...I really like how the MR embellishments helps add to the rustic and homemade feel of this jar...I hope you'll agree..? :)
Maya Road supplies used:
Hexagon chipboard set
Clementine Orange twine cording
Celery Green twine cording
Ornate Vintage Butterfly stamps
Tu-tu tulle in vintage beige
velvet pleat in brown
I have by the way not shared my recent CHA-S creations with you, and although I'd love to do that here I'd just hog a lot of space and stuff. I have however gathered all my projects on my blog in four different posts (split up because I added lots of photos and details): 3" Vintage Memory Box, the layouts and the DT canvas, the mini albums and the random card stuff. Feel free to take a peek if you're curious :)
Until next time Roadies!~
