Hello Roadies, Mandy Kay Starner here with my very first post!
We all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You really can't miss the pink merchandise everywhere you go. I'm not saying its a bad thing, I believe its very important to have regular exams and sometimes we all need a little push to take care of those things we tend to procrastinate on. So why not send a reminder (or an encouraging note) to a friend or loved one? I have just the card for this very situation!
I started with a Fancy Bird Coaster book, removed two birds from it and layered them facing each other and glued them with a good liquid glue, like so...
They look just like a bra, no? Then, I cut off the tails and adhered some black zipper trim around the edges. *I recommend inking or misting your chipboard a matching color so it will hide any edges or chipboard peeking through your trim.
I then, filled in the center of the "bra" with some black Organza Primrose Trim. I added a pink ribbon made from 1/4" Camellia Pink Double Stitched Velvet Trim...
And then, I attached my bra to a card base made of flesh colored cardstock, trimmed it to the shape of a woman's chest, and added straps using some Coal Black Gngham Fabric Tape and 1/4" Camellia Pink Double Stitched Velvet. I topped it all off with a Crystal Trinket Pin, a Vintage Paper Posie, and a Black Pearl Vintage Trinket Pin.
I added a little necklace with some rhinestones, but you could use that space to stamp or print an encouraging message.
I hope you've enjoyed my project and maybe, just maybe it has encouraged you to 1. love your boobs (get them checked ladies!) and 2. look at your supplies a bit differently. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
