Hey Roadies! Julia here with a masculine card design.
Creating floral cards is "my thing". I'm a girlie girl in my creative life. This brings a little problem though as there are a lot of guys in my life. Father, husband, four sons; even the dog is male. I don't create cards for the latter but for the others, I need cards to celebrate their special moments.
One of the things I love so much about Maya Road is that almost every product is alterable. That means I can change the color or simply use it in a different way to get a unique look. This also means that Maya Road product is amazing for creating masculine designs.
This card was designed for a recent tradeshow and features the stunning new metal charm from Maya Road called Around the World Plane. It's perfect for all those travel albums and layouts you want to make but seriously...it's perfect for a masculine card project as well.
To create a really fun background for this card, I turned to Coal Black Gingham and Fire Red Stripes Fabric Tape. To recreate this, simply adhere strips of the tape onto some cardstock and then cut out your layer.
The sentiment is created with the Deborah Mini Chipboard Alphabet and colored black with an alcohol based marker. These markers are great for adding color to chipboard and it dries almost instantly.
To finish up the card I've layered all my embellishments over an Ornate Tag that I've used as a frame. The Burlap Trim adds texture (another great element to use on masculine designs) and pops of color are added with Tomato Red Twine Cording, Alterable Wood Bingo Motifs, Gold Super Star Pins, and Dark Brown Vintage Pearl Trinket Pins. Also included are Black Ticket Strips and a Kraft Mini Tag.
