Hey Roadies! Mandy Kay Starner here to share a project that I created for the CHA-summer booth.
"Moooom, what's for dinner? I'm starving!" I am certain we have all heard that phrase a time or two and if you are a busy mom like me, meal planning can be quite a chore. In an effort to be more organized and eco-friendly, I needed something reusable in the kitchen, that I could write the meals out for each day of the week. This, in turn, would help me with remembering to have the ingredients ready and as a bonus, the rest of the family could see for themselves what dinners would be served on what nights.
I started with a handful of Jumbo bottle caps, some Cotton Candy twine, and some adhesive backed chalkboard vinyl cut into 3 3/4" circles. I laid out my bottle caps and punched holes in the sides of each one where they match up with the one next to it. I wrapped some twine through each set, tying each pair together and then to the set below them, until they are one solid unit. I punched another hole in the top of each of the two top bottle caps and tied some white paper twine cording between the two for hanging and I added a pretty little bow at the top with some red paper twine cording. I adhered the chalkboard vinyl to the center of each bottlecap. I spelled out the days of the week and "what's cookin?"in my Noah mini alphabet and sprayed them all with my White Out mist. When they were dry I added them to my bottlecaps. I stamped the word "today" using my Card Sentiment Words Stamp Set onto a red painted heart from the Shot Through the Heart chipboard set. I adhered a magnet to the back of the heart so it can be moved from day to day. And lastly, to keep the chalk near by, I tied on a Vintage Linen Burlap Treasure Bag that I had sewn a Metal Vintage Trinket- Our Home to the front.
Here are a couple close ups...
