I love mini albums but when Caroline sent me this Scalloped Heart Chipboard album I wanted to do something different with it. I figured with Valentine's Day coming up I would make a display of sorts!
First I took two of the pages from the album and painted them white. With the first heart I simply started wrapping Maya Road Twine around the page going in and out of the cut out heart on the page. For the second page I punched holes around the perimeter of the heart and then threaded twine through the holes. What I was aiming for was to create a "board" of sorts that could hold small pictures. By criss-crossing the twine I was able to achieve the look I wanted! I also covered some small wooden dowels with the same twine.
Next, I found some Mason jars that I had been hoarding for just such a project. I spray painted them white and them sanded them to distress them up a bit. Now came the fun part of adding some details! I glued some Mini Love You Wooden Hearts on pins and added them to the heart "photo boards". I also added a few to the so adorable Kraft Note Envelopes and glued a wooden dowel to the back of the envelope and place them in the open top of the mason jar! A little metal Love Speech Bubble Clip and look how cute it is! Next, I wrapped a bit of Maya Road Twine around the top of the lid and tied a wooden doilie to the front of the jar. The Teal Burlap Rose on the doilie was just what I needed to finish this jar up.
Maya Road trims, a canvas tag, a Kraft Month tag (February),and another cute metal Love Speech Bubble finished off the last two jars.
I hope I have inspired you to use your Maya Road albums not just for mini albums but for decor as well! This was such a fun and easy way to create using Maya Road's incredibly versatile products! Happy crafting!
