One thing I love about our Maya Road products is the fact you can use them in many unique ways. For example, my baby girl is just about to lose her first tooth and I needed to make a tooth fairy pillow pretty quick so she could store her treasure.
Here is who I came up with - meet ballerina princess tooth fairy:
She was made in one evening with some basic supplies. You will need:
1/4 yard of fleece (white)
pink, black and white felt
needle and thread (white thread and black thread)
sequins bow (grey)
satin scallop edge trim (mauve)
I started by sketching out my tooth on paper. This was my first draft. As you can see the legs of the tooth are wider so I adjusted again on paper before I cut my tooth out.
Next after I cut my tooth out, I cut all the embellishments I would glue on the tooth after I had sewn in - eyes, eye dots, cheeks and shoes:
I also cut a pocket out of fleece and sewed it to the back of the tooth before I put the tooth together. I then sewed around the entire tooth closing it up. On the back side above the pocket (though in the future I would probably hide the cut in the pocket). I just a slit about 3" wide and flipped the tooth right side out:
After stuffing my tooth and sewing the opening shut, I arranged the felt pieces on the tooth and added some satin scallop edge trim for her skirt.
The final girlie touch was the sequins bow! And we are done!
Enjoy your tooth fairy!
