Hi Roadies! It's Katrina on the blog here today sharing a layout full of Maya Road touches. The idea for the layout actually started with one little Maya Road embellishment....the Question Mark Clip! Sometimes one thing can spark your creativity for an entire project. And I love it when that happens.
As I was putting the layout together I was going thru my Maya Road stash and found the "happy" in the Framed Saying Pieces-White and the Mini Chipboard Heart Confetti. I wanted to tie them into the layout, because the kraft was perfect and the chipboard you can altered to fit your project! I just used some red acrylic paint I had on hand to paint all my pieces. I did a couple of coats, to get the red color that I wanted.
And since chipboard is so versatile, I also foiled a piece from the Say What Speech Bubbles, leaving the "hi" part bare. This was done with a glue pen made for the foil. I applied the glue all over the speech bubble and then ran the chipboard with the foil transfer sheet on it thru a hot laminator to heat set it. I was so happy with the shine on the chipboard and loved the contrast of the bare chipboard with it.
And the Question Mark clip that started it all. I left it pretty much as is, just accenting around it with some sequins.
The little Kraft Note Envelopes are some of my favorite go to Maya Road products. I want to use them on everything! Here I used the Brown Polka Dot as an accent for some tags, die cuts and some of that heart confetti chipboard. Do you see that fun bling strip? That is some of the new Self Adhesive Rhinestone Trim in Coffee Brown. This is so easy to work with, no tweezers, no lining up, just peel backing and apply!
So look thru you stash, or shop for something new (hee here) and you may just create an entire project around one thing like I did! Thanks for stopping by the Maya Road blog today. Make sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram (@maya_road).
