Hey Roadies! This is Jill Keller with my first-ever blog post for Maya Road! I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this fabulous team filled with so much talent! Thanks so much to Maya Road for choosing me for this amazing Design Team.
My layout today is focused on the amazing Maya Road dies; I used the Glasses and Stache die set, repeat cutting the mustache from several patterned papers. I lightly adhered the die cuts to my background paper and then machine-stitched right down the middle of the two rows.
After matting my photo with additional papers I started the embellishment process. I adore the wood tokens and used the Hashtag set in two spots on my page.
I used lots of little stickers and thread nests to highlight the Hashtag tokens, the sentiments add the perfect touch to my page.
For additional embellishing I painted a Corrugated Tag with white paint. I used the tag as a home for more embellishments, stapling some Maya Road White Lace trim to the top of the tag. I tied a bow from some Maya Road seam binding and glued it right on my photo. After it dried I machine-stitched along the side of my photo and right through the bow.
I mixed two different alphas for my title, sewing right through them to add more texture and tie them to the mustaches on the background. I think machine-stitching is a perfect match with Maya Road embellishments, expect to see a lot of that from me!
Adding a little embellishment to the top of the layout gives the eye a starting point for the page, another thing I like to do on my pages. More sewing to keep the overall look consistent.
The end result is a fun, silly and whimsical page with girly touches!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Maya Road blog! I am so excited to share my love of these products on future scrapbook pages, I hope you'll enjoy my creations and find some inspiration for your projects!
