Hi Roadies! It's Katrina here from Paper, Scissors and Glue to share a layout full of Maya Road die cuts from our steel dies. If you have been visiting the blog this month you already know that we are featuring dies on our projects.
Do you ever go into a project without a plan? Well that was me with this layout! I am going to admit, I am not the most organized or methodical creator. I have things everywhere, on the floor, in the chair, falling in the trash can...you name it! With this layout, I knew I was using dies, but changed my mind about 15 times before I came up with the ones I wanted to use. It was a trial and error process, of what would work with the picture versus where I wanted to use them.
I knew from the start I wanted to use the word love for the title somewhere. I had two to choose from, the With Love Script Die or the Fanciful Word Die Bundle. I went with the Fanciful Word Die Bundle, just because I had a sneaking suspicion I would use the hearts on there also! I tucked the "l" and the "e" underneath the edge of my picture. One of the best ways to attach these thin shaped die cuts is with a glue pen or a sheet of adhesive that you can apply the die to and then pull it off. Tape runners or liquids just do not work for me, I am too messy!
I used the Geometric Feather Die along with some felt to create my feathers. The dies cut felt beautifully. I would have done some vellum ones also, but didn't have any vellum on hand. (I don't know how, with all the supplies I have!) I also hand cut some flowers from the pattern paper I was using and then tucked in some of the Small Vintage Paper Flowers in White, along with a button from the Ken Oliver Vintage Ornate Buttons set and a wood token from the Beloved Tokens set.
I knew I wanted strips of paper coming out from under the photo. I was going to cut little banners, but then I remembered that I had the Gift Tag Die Set. I loved the stitched edge, so I cut three of them out and just arranged them at different heights underneath my picture. I added a heart from the Fanciful Die set on the middle one and called it good! I also strung some of the Wood Skinny Spools, after I wrapped a couple of them with a strip of paper.
So see?! There are lots of fun ways to incorporate dies into your creations! Even if you "don't" have a plan!! The dies are on sale thru the end of March! They are 25% off with coupon code DIESOFMARCH - only valid up to 31st of March 2017. Thanks for stopping by the blog today!!!
