Hey Roadies! It's Katrina, from Paper, Scissors and Glue back on the blog today. If you are anything like me, you might be a procrastinator when it comes to getting things done. Wait, what?? You aren't?! Well, I am going to show you a couple of different quick cards you can make using Maya Road products to embellish with!
As I was gearing up for my project for this blog post, I was looking thru my stash of paper and thinking about what type of card to make. I kept running across all the papers I had that had pocket cards on them. Then the thought came to me, just embellish the pocket cards themselves and use them for the front of a card! You can trim them down to what will work for your card. The "life is lovely" I didn't trim at all, but the "heart" card I did trim a little.
Flowers from Maya Road are perfect to add to these pocket cards to dress them up. This first card I used a Tulle Mini Bloom in Sunny Yellow, along with some Vintage Paper leaves in Green, a trinket pin, and some of the Crocheted Elastic Lace Trim (love this stuff!). I tucked half of a paper doily over on the other side, under the card, and then a linen mini banner piece. The mini banner piece tied the woodgrain theme into the card.
For the next card, I loved the saying and I also loved the flowers that were already printed on the card. But that pink flower fell onto the card, and it was a happy accident that it just worked! So, I used a Felt Rose in Princess Pink up in the left hand corner. I didn't have another one to use for the opposite corner, so I started playing around. When I found the colors of the Resin Mini Mums that I had on hand, I knew they would work! I used Porcelain, Sand and Coral colors for those.
So, by adding a few fun Maya Road embellishments to those pocket cards, you can create some fun and beautiful cards to give away. Also fun for the kids to get involved with and make some cards they can give their friends!
And bonus...flowers are on sale this month, including some of the ones I used above!!! You can find the sale category HERE. So pick some up to decorate your cards with! Thanks for stopping by the Maya Road Blog today!!!
