Here is a card I created using Ken Oliver charms.
I started by adding modeling paste to the background and some color shine. I die cut Notepad die from patterned paper and adhered it to the background layered with Glassine Bag. The flowers and leaves from Rose Garden Sentiments Stamp Set are stamped on white cardstock and cut out. Ken Oliver Heart & Key Charm is tied with twine and adhered under the flower. I stamped the sentiment in black ink on a little tag and pinned it with Vintage Pearl Pin - Hot Pink .
Well hello Roadies! This is Daniela. Our focus this July are CHARMS and we have a special going on all month. Make sure you visit the store and use coupon code CHARMED to get 30% off all METAL CHARMS.
I created a fun card today and incorporated some charms from our collection.
I used With Love Nature Die Bundle for the flower, leaves and the butterfly. I die cut it from patterned paper that I had in my stash. I layered all the die cuts over a journaling card topped with washi tape. I used 3D foam adhesive tor the flower that has two different layers of patterned paper.
Hi Roadies! It's Melody here on the blog today. I am excited give you a sneak peek of the Maya Road July Card Kit being released later this week! This month's kit is a fun, summer themed card kit with a great stamp set and lots of fun embellishments and trims.
The kit includes summer themed pattern paper. I love the colors. Here I used one the metal tins, the Tags & Ticket Die, a sentiment and sunglasses from the stamp set, and pretty paper roses and lace trim.
Hi Roadies! It's Daniela here for the last day of the Maya Road and Simple Stories Product Swap! I hope you enjoyed all our creations this week and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Maya Road on-line store.
I created a little mini album using index cards. It's my favorite go to idea for mini albums.
I love using 3D foam squares to add dimension to some of the elements.
I die cut the sunglasses using Beach Time Die Set and added Deco Foil to them for that extra shine. To finish the mini album I added ribbon to the top hole and tied it into a bow. Make sure the bow is not too tight so you can flip the pages.
Pretty simple, right. Can you spot the similarities between the pages? Simple Stories Summer Days collection and Maya Road make this even easier with all the adorable elements.
Make sure you stop by Simple Stories blog for more inspiration and for a chance to win their Summer Days & Cabin Fever collection kit!
Each month we feature a new friend of Maya Road and their beautiful, unique & creative style! This month we are thrilled to introduce you to Laurie Schmidlin and her stunning designs. Laurie's an amazing cardmaker and her use of color and wonderful attention to detail has really caught our eye! We know you'll love her as much as we do!
Hi there! I'm Laurie and am thrilled to be guest designing for Maya Road! I live on a cattle ranch in rural Montana (an hour away from the nearest small town) with my husband and five children. My family, my faith, and simple country living are all things that I cherish dearly.
When I am not out on horseback helping on the ranch or in my studio, you will most certainly find me with a book in one hand and a hot cuppa in the other! I have been playing with paper and stamps for over 20 years now. I'm mainly a card maker, but do enjoy creating home decor and gifts as well. Although I do enjoy creating all styles of cards, multi layered and embellished ones are by far my favorite ones to make! You can find me on My Blog, Instagram, or Facebook.
Thanks so much Laurie for joining us today! Take it away...
I have a thing for beautiful embellishments! In fact, I love them so much that I often design my cards around them! That is how this card started. I pulled out one of the Bulldog Clips - Bronze and thought that it would pair nicely with some die cuts using the Notepaper Die.
For the focal image, I stamped the solid mason jar (from the Main Jar stamp set) in a light aqua. I then stamped the outline image using a light gray ink. I added one of the cute labels included in the same set and adhered it to the jar.
For embellishment, I added some stitching, sequins, and one of the flowers from the Resin Flower Set - Snow White.
Wouldn't you just love to get this card in your mailbox?! Absolutely stunning! Laurie will be joining us in a few weeks for another stunning project. Stay tuned!
The center flower is adhered to the card using foam adhesive for dimension. It gives it a little lift so it appears to be hanging over the chipboard banner. I added enamel dots from my stash mimicking some of the colors in the card. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set to the bottom right of the card using black ink.
I stamped and fussy cut all the items from Banner Sentiment Stamp Set. I added Deco Foil to the flowers. It only adheres to where adhesive is applied. I adhered the flowers and tucked the stamped and cut images around the flowers. The sentiment is adhered using 3D Foam Adhesive. I added another stamped and cut banner to the bottom of the card for additional color.
I then die cut white doilies and black scalloped frame, and layered them together. I also die cut "with love" with a piece of scraps and used as stencil, heat embossed the words with white and gold embossing powder. The heart chipboard accents on top of the die cuts had been gessoed and heat embossed with UTEE.

2016 FAMILY CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT by Jana Eubank
Each year I try to create an ornament with our family picture to add to our Christmas tree.
I used the 6x6 DIY Wood Mini Pallet as the base to my ornament, covering it with 6x6 patterned papers. I hot glued a ribbon to the sides of the pallet for hanging on the tree.
Next, I printed our family photo in black and white and matted it with white cardstock and accented it with a glittery snowflake.
For the center of the snowflake I used the Homemade Holidays Clear Stamp Set to stamp and emboss the "JOY" circle in white and gold embossing powder on a kraft cardstock circle.
I adorned the top of the ornament with the year our photo was taken, using the Number Clips attached to the Linen Mini Pennant Banner Pieces. I strung them together with some white embroidery floss and added a metal Royal Key as an accent.
It looks so pretty hanging on our Christmas tree!
Stay tuned as Jana will be back again on Friday with another beautiful project!
Hi Roadies! What is in your crafting plate today? For me, it had been a good change. A little slowing down and spending time on the things I love. This morning, the sun is up and shining. Love to wake up to such bright mornings and it makes me fresh.
Christmas is coming too soon! I try to get ahead of time and start on the Christmas cards early, so I don't get into the mad rush. Here, I am sharing 4 cards which I have done up pretty quickly with the help of Maya Road embellishments (Really, all you need for Christmas cards this year is Maya Road)
For the first card, I made use of the Maya Road Homemade Holidays stamp set as my primary 'ingredient'. It is so easy to use this set! You have all you need! I first stamped the circular bells with a random color, red or green. Then I matched it with the hanger portion and stamped. (This hanger portion is also available in the stamp set!) Before I laid all my bells onto the card base, i added some more stamping (the circles with dotted lines) in the background to highlight the bells. Then I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base using some red pigment inks. Set it all up, and add some Cherry Red cording. When all is done, I decided to add some more blink to this card with the Silver Snow Crystal Charms!
Another card here with the same word Joy. This time my stamped sentiment has changed. One stamp set and it gives me this many possibilities. Instead of a large flower centre, I have used the Wood Snowflake button. For the background, I had distressed it with some darker blue distress inks to provide a contrast against my title.
And don't forget to use your dies as well! Dies are very important tools to my crafting purposes nowadays, and I can't do without them! Here is the So Deer Steel Die on some shiny dual tone foil paper that I had on hand. On the background, I did some random stamping of snowflakes. Even the dotted line edging the sides of my background is from the stamp set.
Totally loving the journey working through these 4 cards!
Here are some of the products used:
Hope you have enjoyed the walk through today! Here's a Merry Christmas to all my crafty friends! Have a blessed and joyous Christmas!
