celebrate album

so i finally got to finish my celebrate album which documents noah's second birthday.

here is a link to the complete album. again, these mini tab albums (which are coming out in mid/late august) are some of my favorite things from our release this summer!

i love supply chain

i had an awesome lunch today with jen from luxe. we try to get together every once in a while to catch up and grab some good sushi. it is nice because we can talk about the industry and as many of you know, we have collaborated on products together. jen is a great person to hang out with; we just now need to find the time to scrapbook together!

now back to my post about how i love supply chain. in my past life, after my time at a plant as a chemical engineer, i wandered into the world of supply chain. i can remember the first time i did a project - it bewildered me but then suddenly the light bulb clicked and i can honestly say that besides MR, that one of the best jobs i had was in supply chain was as a global planner and then an analyst.

my inner geek loves all of this stuff - the numbers, the problem solving, the breakthroughs. i get my energy from all of this rather than have it drain me on most days.

right now we are looking at our august shipments and we have products coming from many different locations (united states /overseas) and right now we have it all timed to arrive around the same time. and we will be celebrating once we get the items to start shipping! and we are blessed to have a great team that makes sure we get our orders packed and out as quickly as possible.

and next to all this supply chain goodness, i also love when i get the chance to create with our products. i shared with you the first page of my home scallop layer book; here are a couple more pages from it.

this is the back of the first page. i used some of our scallop frame and heart/home chipboard on there.

i hope to finish up the album this week.

nsi want you to check out noah's sweet ride. we finally got him a birthday present. a bit late but it was on sale so we decided it was time.

he still hasn't gotten the concept of the peddling yet so the parent steer control is quiet handy right now. we are also working on getting him to wear his helmet. that will become more important when he starts out on his own and rides on his own.

and here is one of my albums i wanted to share - this is the new gear one we did for CHA-S. if you are wondering about the black; no it is not black chipboard - it was just misted to look that way - pretty cool huh? the edges were sanded to give it that rough look. if you take a look at all the photos of the album, you will get an idea on how even the coverage is for our maya mists.

this album is also another fave we released at this show. the edges are really funky and unique and here is what it looked like just freshly misted.

i sanded the edges to have the chipboard show through. this album is only half done so i will share more of it tomorrow!

howdy

i can't believe how big my boy is. here he is at CHA-S waiting to greet me after my day on the tradeshow floor. we had some friends from paper tales with us. noah is a rough and tumble sorta dude. but that is cool because i am a rough and tumble sorta gal myself. i can't believe he will be starting preschool pretty soon. he is ready though. he loves his owl "backpack" and he loves to be around other people. i can't wait to see how much he loves school come fall!

i am trying to thin out my closet of clothing that i haven't worn in a long time since i left my corporate job. all the skirts, suits and such have been collecting dust in my closet the last couple of years and i think it is time to let a lot of them go to the salvation army. at the same time i am also starting our yearly shoe boxes for samaritian's purse. i truly believe you can go through life choosing to be a reservoir or a river and i hope that my family in some small way try to be a river to others.

other that than it has been a good weekend of chilling and catching up on work. all our luggage bags are empty. all the laundry has been done. i am about 80% done catching up on emails. i even got to cook dinner, run and work on finishing up 3 scrapbooking projects this weekend!

back in the swing of things

so we are back in the swing of things this week.

i haven't done much in terms of touching the piles of new goodies we have released at CHA-S so today i decided to take about 15 minutes and work on a layout. i had this photo leftover and on my table so i couldn't resist.

so how many maya road products do you see here? LOL - in the photos there are actually 4 (the sheer scroll page from an album, the fleur stamp, the rubons for the word "serious" and the tree sheer ribbon.

for stamping onto my sheer scroll page, i used ranger's archival ink in jet black. after some experimenting, i found that it works on our sheer items nicely and if you let it set to dry for say 1 hour, the ink won't rub off .

i also used luxe's simply line as the background paper for this layout - some of my fave papers for simple layouts!

and i want to share with you all one of my favorites from the show - our mini tab albums that come on the 8" x 12" sheets. i haven't finished this album but i am close. you essentially get all the chipboard pieces and the rings to complete this album. that is one thing deb and i try to do, we try to make sure that you get everything almost complete - so the rings come with the album; you don't need to go out any buy them yourself! and for a price tag of less than $5, it is quite a nice gift you can make!

one of our DT members (katie) and her family. her BIL was killed last night when his car was hit by a drunk driver. they could use your thoughts and prayers right now.

we are back...

so we are back after a LONG trip yesterday we got back around 11:30 last night. everyone got a good night's rest and today we are busy getting all the orders into our system to see what we have to reorder already. we already count a lot of products we already have had to place a reorder for (thank you!) and we are working hard and pushing everyone to get things delivered to us when they promised - so far we are estimating about 50% of our stuff will ship in mid/late august and the rest in mid/late september.

i will write more soon but wanted to let you blog readers here have a head start on something - so our w/h did a physical inventory while we were gone and we came up with a handful of the w/h sale kits - these were the kits listed here. these were the kits which sold out within 36 hours at the end of june.

due to a couple of cancelled orders and the such, we found a couple left which i want to offer to blog readers here first. so here is the deal:

1. get $115 of product for $40 shipped in the US (if overseas would be $25 extra per kit).

2. no add ons for this as these kits are packed and ready to go.

3. again this is an assortment of stuff, the reason we have these kits is to clear out some old stuff so remember there is no new items from the last year in it. these are overstock or discontinued items we have. we can't handle any special requests. there are no boy versus girl kits (although if you think about it 75% of the stuff we create is more girl versus boy so you can calculate your odds).

4. we only accept paypal payment. if you want one you have to pay us by paypal (which you can also pay by CC by paypal for these kits).

5. first come first serve.

6.  if you want a kit, contact us and write MR kit in the subject line. you can contact us here and let us know you want a kit.

seriously, deb and i want to thank everyone who has commented on our Company Blog. we have taken the time each day to read each and every comment. at one point, we had to turn off the notification of comments b/c there were just so many coming into my inbox at once that i wasn't getting any work done. LOL.

but in this last stressful week, when i needed a break, i was able to just cruise on over to the Company Blog and read the latest comments. it was a nice break. we hope that ya'll can feel the love and time we put into our products and MR. everything has been done with the thought and analysis of 2 engineers who have loved crafting since they were elementary school kids!

the show is almost here and i think i am the calmest i have been before any show. no packing of clothing and the sorts has been done yet but that is ok. i know there will be problems that will arise during set up and such but that is ok.

unfortunately, i have gotten a bit of a cold i think and currently i sound like a male frog - LOL - oh well that is life. but i am resting my voice and hope to be ready and rearing to go by friday for the show. if need be, i will wear a big whiteboard around my neck to communicate.

wow, it is almost here.

i can't believe CHA is almost here. we have almost gotten everything done. this photo makes me smile though.

i was trying to get noah to help me model some of our new goodies - alas he is too fast now and this is the only semi-clear shot i could get. did you notice that our sweet owl stamp from last release now has a piece of chipboard (a keychain actually) that you can stamp him on? yup yup!

and it makes me think back to 2 years ago when noah was about 4 weeks old and we got this chipboard shot.

aaahh, my sweet baby with the blossom III chipboard. I don't think I will be getting any shots like this soon with the speed that noah moves in!
