It has been a whirlwind here in Dallas the last month. On the work front, we just announced our Early Summer Release on the Company Blog (make sure you check it out for a chance to win some Early Release goodies). We decided to add a small mid release as we are missing some Summer fun stuff and also Valentine / Winter fun stuff with the timing of the CHA tradeshows.
I have to admit my favorite thing of this release is this canvas wallet:
I haven't done a crazy art piece with it yet (there are pockets inside the wallet that are CC sized and a zippered pocket for change too) but I did create this a couple of weeks ago while I was traveling with the help of a handy glue gun.
Can you believe there are over 36 stamps in this set? I wanted to make sure we would be able to get a full alphabet on the 4" x 4" space; the clear stamps are made of high quality photopolymer and provide a super crisp image.
Here are some cute cards I made a couple of weeks ago with the stamp for Scrapbook and Cards Today.
My parents are headed back to Texas this week and they are actually driving. After a long 8 months, it seems my dad's cancer has stablized. His pill is working in his treatment and they are going to move here temporarily for the next year. We found a nice active retirement community for them to live in about 30 minutes away so that they could have their own space and make some friends here. They are excited as their new place offers movies 3x a week, special weekly trips to walmart, yoga, computer room and more. We will be helping them get set up this weekend.
The good news is that they are not far away; I expect they will still come over 2-3x a week to see the grandkids and have dinner with us. But now they can have the freedom to do what they want as we look ahead to the future for them. My mom has already started planning to do lots of mahjong jello squares (jello with heavy cream and the cream separates and forms an opaque colored layer) for Noah's Birthday party which is coming up soon.
Besides work, I am up to my eyeballs in swim lessons for the kids and midnight Angry Birds Pig Pinata making (and Angry Bird Sewing). I still have a little bit of time and I think everything will come out awesome. More photos on my ANP (angry birds party) progress soon.
