So I have been super busy this past weekend before I leave soon for Great Lakes Mega Meet - trying to get some sewing done. I like to send my nieces and nephew a package every month or so filled with toys and other fun things I have made them. I embarked this weekend on making them some fun time twirly skirts. The neat thing about my nieces and my girl is that they are sized as follows - size 6, size 4 and size 3. That means if I make something for the oldest, at some point it gets passed along to the other girls and then onto friends.
So this weekend, I decided to make them some easy skirts. This are some of the simpliest around since there is no need for elastic - just some good knit. I happened to have a half yard of some hot pink knit I had for a while which would be the perfect waist band for each of them and then I jazzed up each of the skirts.
Here is the one for the size 6:
The waist band for this one is about 8" tall but then she can fold it over to wear it in a comfy fashion.
Here is the size 6 one:
Again with the yoga waist that can roll down and fold over for a comfy fit and then finally a size 3 one:
Each one of these are so very simple to make - no need for any patterns - just some simple math. After I settle down from traveling, I will write up a tutorial on how to put all of this together. I have even made one in my size in the past!
Hope you have a fabulous Monday!
