Empty Tins

Do you have a few empty tins that once held our Ribbon Slides? If so, here is a way to put them to good use. Design Team Member Lisa Pace created this star ornament using patterned papers by Daisy D's. Below is a step by step tutorial if you want to create this ornament.

Products Needed:
Maya Road Star Chipboard Album
Empty Ribbon Slide Tin
Patterned Paper (I used Daisy D's)
Maya Road Velvet Ric Rac
4 Small Silver Jingle Bells
4 Silver Jump Rings
1 Silver Eyelet
Vintage Mica
Holly Leaves
Vintage Mercury Glass Bead
Star Dust Stickles

Tools Needed:
Craft Knife
Crop-a-Dile
Paper Piercer
Pliers
Hot Glue Gun
Sanding Block

Instructions:

1. Cover front and back of Star with Patterned Paper (I adhere one side of the star to the paper then use my craft knife to cut out the star, repeat the same process to the back of the star)
2. Using a Sanding Block sand all the edges of your Star
3. Using a crop-a-dile or other hole punch, punch a hole at the top of your star and set an eyelet
4. Using a paper piercer place 4 small holes (one on each point) near the end of the four remaining star points
5. Thread the jingle bells onto the jump rings and attach to the star points
6. Place patterned paper inside of tin, accent using Star Dust Stickles
7. Add a little Vintage Mica, place lid on tin
8. Using a hot glue gun attach holly leaves and Vintage Mercury Glass Beads to tin
9. Using a hot glue gun attach tin to front center of your Star Ornament
10. Create the ornaments hanger using Maya Road Velvet Ric Rac

Star Coaster Album

Design Team member Debbie Harmer has been busy creating some really cute holiday ornaments. Debbie used our Star Coaster Album from the Motifs Set for the base of her ornament then embellished each one using our Vineyard Chipboard and Birds of a Feather collections as well as Crushed Velvet Ribbons in Midnight Black, Sienna Brown and Camo Green.

Sheer Snowflakes

Design Team member Katie Watson created this bright and cheery snowflake garland using pages from our Sheer Snowflake Album. The bright colors and whimsical feel are certain to bring a smile to anyone that views this garland.

Scallop Coasters

These holiday ornaments were created by Chelsea a.k.a. HapEMomE online. Chelsea used four pages from our Scallop Coaster Chipboard Album. The front and back of each page is decorated with patterned paper and embellished with stamps, buttons, flowers and rhinestones.

These will certainly adorn any tree or gift beautifully. Thanks Chelsea for sharing your ornaments with all of us.

Sheer Snowflakes

Congratulations Fiona... this project has been removed for publication.

Talk about adorable! Design Team member Fiona Carter created these cute reindeer ornaments using pages from our Sheer Snowflake Album, Sheer Blossoms,Circle Coaster Album, Las Vegas - In the Park and City Scape Ribbons. The back of each ornament is stamped with our Postcard and Stamp Seal Clear Stamp Sets.

Fiona was kind enough to write a step by step tutorial if you would like to create some for your tree, holiday gift bags or kids ornament exchange party.

 

Birds of a Feather

Look at this precious paper tree created by Morag. Our little Birds of a Feather embellishment is the perfect accent for this project. Below is a quick tutorial if you would like to create one for your home.

1. Decoupaged vintage sheet music to the cone base.
2. Cut each strip approx. 1" wide, vary the lengths for interest.
3. Ink and curl each strip 
4. Sprinkle glitter over tree for snow
5. Attach holiday sentiment to cocktail sticks
6. Attach to tree
7. Paint and glitter your Bird
8. Adhere to skewer add beads and bow
9. Attach to tree
10. Thread small beads onto pins for random baubles

Scroll Frames

Here is a really cute project created by Vicki Boutin. Vicki created this wonderful "I believe" tag  using two of our Scroll Frames. This tag would look so cute on a holiday gift bag or used as an ornament on your tree.

Quick Hostess Gift Tutorial

Design Team member Andrea Wiebe created this wonderful Hostess Gift Tutorial. Andrea provided
a supply list and easy to follow step-by-step written instructions as well as color photos. 
We hope you give this a try. 

Supplies:

Cardstock (3 X 9 inches)
Printed Paper (3 X 3 inches) I used Daisy D’s
Maya Road Ribbons
Needle and Thread
Button 
Mini RSVP pen made by Pentel
3 X 3 Sticky Note Pad (such as Post-It-Notes)
Small Velcro Piece
Glue Dots
Wet Glue

Instructions for Notepaper Holder:

1.  Score cardstock at 2", 2 ½", 5 ½", and 6"
2.  Fold on score line and glue notepad in on the centre area.
3.  For the “pen holder”, cut a piece of ribbon to 3".  I used Maya Road 
Velvet Cream Ric Rac.  Wrap around lid of pen and glue onto the back of the notepad 
holder.  Making sure that the pen is resting on the top of the holder.
 


4.  Cover back with printed paper.  I cut a scalloped circle out of a 
corresponding paper for added decoration  



5.  Stick on a Velcro piece to the front “flap” to keep notebook closed.



To create flower:

1.  Cut 7 strips of Peace Ribbon - Flowers to measure 2 ½".  Fold one strip in half and 
stitch onto thread.  Continue with each piece. 



2.  Stitch the last Peace Ribbon piece to the first…to make a circle.
3.  Pull to gather, sew button in centre.



4.  Glue onto front of notepaper holder.  Stick a “glue dot” onto the back 
of each petal and puff up a little.   

To create pen:

1.  Remove “ink stick” from pen barrel.
2.  Cut 3 ¼" inches of Peace Ribbon - Flower.
3.  Gently twist ribbon into pen barrel.



4.  Replace ink stick.  

Flower Petal Tab Album

Check out this adorable Snowman album created by Wendy Gibson using two pages from our Flower Petal Album. Wendy certainly gets an A+ for creativity and originality. Since the Flower Petal Album has six pages you could create six Snowman ornaments or gift tags or three Snowman mini albums like Wendy's.

Sheers and Chipboard

Design Team member Lisa Pace created her ornament using a page from our Sheer Snowflake and Bird Coaster Album. She embellished her bird using our Royalty Crowns, Velvet Blossom Trim, Scrolls Rub ons and Chipboard Scrolls. Lisa altered her Royalty Crown using a Gold Paint Dabber and Stickles by Ranger This would look great hanging on your tree or in a holiday wreath.

Next Lisa created a stocking gift card holder and embellished the front using our Velvet Ric Rac, a Chipboard Snowflake and a Philadelphia Lowercase Letter "a". She used Glitter by Art Glitter to accent her Snowflake and "a".
