Wendy Vecchi has made the Maya Road Car Key Coaster Book into a soft, vintage looking treasure called "The Key to A Happy Home". Not that we're surprised though...everything Wendy touches turns out beautiful and unique which is why she's on our Design Team!
The other thing we like about Wendy is she uses a TON of product on her work...she artfully places it here and there, gives it her special little touch and turns it into a work of art! So, let's count...and see how many Maya Road products she used.....1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.....OK, lost count...so we'll list them for you!
Well, the Car Key Coaster Book, Trinkets buttons ( specifically... Pebble, Grass and Earth), Trinkets Elements Blossoms (I know, these happen to be one of her personal favorites!), Chipboard Letters ( Jonathon, Noah ,Simply Luxe Outer Loop and Philadelphia Upper Case ), Heart and Home (the cute little houses on the front), Vineyard (which she claims is the most unrecognized jewel in the whole Maya Road line and she's right), Foundations, Blossoms 2 and 3, Motifs, Microchip hearts Neutral, Scroll Ru-ons, Velvet Sparkle Blossoms,Velvet Blossoms, Wire Flower Clips and Of Course, Stamps (Defined, Scrolls and Foundations Journaling ) !! See, I told you it was A LOT!

Wendy also sent us the instructions....so NOW you can really make this project!! Thanks Wendy! You can see more of Wendy's work on her blog Studio 490.
1. Paint the edges of the cover with crackle paint & set aside to dry. When dry, add multiple colors of paint, using the dabbers to create a rusty metallic look, then rub black pigment ink on & wipe off before it is completely dry.
Also apply the crackle paint (medium/thick) to a large chipboard flower. let dry & crackle. When dry, rub black soot
into the cracks, using a blending tool.
2. Cover the fronts & backs of each page with patterned paper. Sand the edges to distress, then ink with distress inks.
3. Ink the letters, roofs, and flowers black, using pigment ink.
4. Ink the blue letters & flowers with cloudy blue pigment ink. Use Brushed Corduroy ink on the others.
5. Cover the 3 houses with scraps of coordinating paper.
6. Stamp each page as desired, then add the embellishments as shown. Here's a little tip...
**Always get your stamping done on BOTH sides before adding embellishments. It's MUCH easier to stamp on a
flat surface.**
7. Pen stitch around the edges of the page. The more detail...the better your result. The smallest details adds interest.
8. Glaze pen dots/doodling also add interest and just a little shine to the project. *WARNING* The tiny dots are very addicting & FUN.
9. The metal trinkets blossoms can be altered by stamping on them, then using a hemostat to bend the petals up.
As you can see on the "Live" page, I also altered one by cutting it & using just a portion of it. At the bottom of this page, the corner is a piece of the square frame from the foundations tin. *Always look @ the POSSIBILITIES* and look for other used of chipboard pieces.
10. On the "success" page, the flower center was stamped on grungeboard, cut out, then inked with vintage photo ink. Curl the petals up, by rolling them from the edge.
11. The velvet blossoms started out white. I altered the color by lightly blotting them with Cloudy Blue pigment ink. I then stamped them with black pigment ink.
12. One more embellishing tip...Layer your alphabets to create dimension and vary the fonts used, for a unique look.
13. HAVE fun! Try different techniques...Make ART!
