Hello everyone. Long before becoming a Roadie I fell in love with Maya Road's coaster's and albums. To be honest though I've never done an acrylic album before, I had a fear of them I guess. So when I saw I had to make one for CHA I was so intimidated! But I really love this Acrylic Scalloped Layer Book and had fun creating this "All Girl" album for Jaiden, my little girl.
I decided to keep things simple on this and let the photos do all the work. :)
The layout is the same though out the book. I used a scalloped border punch to mirror the edges of the album on the pages and lots of yummy ribbon to create borders too.
I just added a few painted chipboard pieces and a quote to complete the album along with other MR embellishments.
Maya Road Supplies:
Clear Acrylic Scalloped Layer Book, Trims & Plaid Ribbons, Trinket Leaf Pins, Velvet Pleated Flowers, Felt Bead Flowers, Mini Chipboard Butterflies, Mini Chipboard Scrolls, Kraft Tickets, Chipboard hearts, People Key chain Set and Bethany Mini Chipboard Alphabet.
Other Supplies:
Patterned Paper - K & Company
Making Memories - Paint
Next I'd like to show you another example of how to use an album.
Not only are MR shaped albums perfect for making cute and whimsical books, but they are also great for creating home decor items. For this project I used two Ladybug Coaster Books, glued all the pages together and used it to help created this bookend. The "L" shaped part of the bookend was made out of two pieces of wood that were glued and nailed together, then covered with patterned paper. Then after covering the ladybug with patterned paper the ladybug and book end were attached using a dowel and wood glue. Finish embellishing the bookend with chipboard, ribbons, flowers and pins, basically just have fun with it. Just think of the possibilities using all the different shapes available from Maya Road. :)
Two Ladybug Coaster books, Felt Bead Flowers, Trinket Pins, Mini Sheer Birds Set, Love Key chain, Jonathan Chipboard Letters, Kraft Envelope and New York Uppercase Alphabet.
Other Supplies:
Patterned Paper and Stickers - October Afternoon
Glitter - Pink Paislee
Thanks for stopping by today,
Jennifer
