Hello,
everyone! Thanks for joining me today.
One of favorite MR products are the Trinket Pins, the leaf ones especially. So I decided to make something to store, as well as display them in my scrap area.
This project is super easy to make and I got to use up some scraps of patterned paper I had laying around too.
An embellishment box and chipboard borders are the main pieces needed for this project, as well as some styrofoam, (or floral foam) felt and of course Trinket Pins.
- First cut a piece of foam to fit the inside of the tin. Glue the foam in place.
- Cut and adhere a piece of felt to the foam.
- Cover the tin with patterned paper. Add a scalloped strip of patterned along the bottom edge of the tin. Then add a larger scalloped borer along the top edge. (To add a little texture I folded and wrinkled the paper slightly before adhering it to the tin.)
- Cover two chipboard borders with patterned paper and then paint the outer edges. Adhere the borders to the edge of the tin. (Use binder clips, or small clamps to hold the border in place until it dries.
- Cut approx. 24 - 1/8" x 12" scalloped strips. Roll the strips up into tight rolls, add a little glue on the ends to hold in place and adhere into the center of each empty circle. (Use a pick and pull out the center of each flower slightly( as seen above).
- Next apply your Trinket Pins to your "pin box".
Where there are leaves a tree isn't too far away! So just for fun, I made a chipboard tree for the center of the pin box. I decided not to adhere the tree the box, instead the pins hold it in place, allowing it to be easily removed, if needed.
See you soon,
