All the details to make this Shadow Box

Caroline showed you all this project I was teaching here in Australia so I thought it would be great to share all the instructions for you.

The first step is to take out and unwarp and remove al the squares of chipboard. Once done take the shadow box and spray with Maya Mists, ensure you do the insides of the shadow box. You don’t need to do the back. Set aside and allow to dry.

 

 

Now to complete the inserts.

Insert 1

1. To complete the first insert cover the base with black graphic 45 paper.
2. Spray your key with mist and apply crackle accent
3. Then take the 2 tags and cover with cream cardstock
4. Apply a ½ in piece of black cardstock to the base of each tag, see picture
5. Trim and sand edges, add some cream rim to the join of the cardstock
6. Add tags to the centre of the insert
7. Add the key
8. Finish by adding diamantes and the 3 punched butterflies

Insert 2

1. Take the crown and cover with glossy accent and then apply red glitter (set aside to dry)
2. cover the 2^nd insert with the red stripe paper
3. Use the EK Success punch to punch out a cream  flourish and attach to the cream cardstock
4. Punch out a red and cream cardstock and attach
5. Finish by using the circle scallop to punch the cream and red clock paper.
6. Once dry apply the crown and diamantes

Insert 3

1. Cover the base of the insert with the green floral paper
2. Apply glossy accent to the die cut butterfly and apply the black glitter
3. Cover the lower ½ inch with cream cardstock and then cover the join with the cream trim
4. Tie a small piece of cream tulle around the insert and knot on the right side
5. Cover the whole butterfly with cream cardstock
6. Stamp small tag with xoxox stamp and use the safety pin to attach
7. Once dry apply the 2 butterflies together and mount with mounting foam
8. Stamp the love word on the cream cardstock then insert

 

Insert 4

1. Cover insert with the red and cream paper
2. Use the tree branch and spray with the black mist and apply the crackle accent
3. Use some red cardstock and the Tim Holtz rosette die and cut the die with the bigshot
4. Join the ends together then attach to the insert
5. Cover the tree with the green paper
6. Add the tree and the branch and then add diamantes

Insert 5

Add a photo of choice

 

Insert 6

1. Cover with the black diamond pattern paper
2. Use some red cardstock and the Tim Holtz rosette die
3. Use some black cardstock and the Tim Holtz rosette die and cut the die with the bigshot
4. Adhere the ends once folded and then attach to insert
5. Use felt to make mini banners and attach
6. Use the black twine to the top
7. Punch 3 butterflies and add to the rosette and edge of shadow box

 

Insert 7

1. Cover the insert with the cherry paper and then add cream flourish shape
2. Add small photo
3. Use some of the small pieces of felt to wrap around in a circle to create a small flower
4. Add the die cut leaves as well
5. Finish with several diamantes

Insert 8

1. Cover the insert with the green patterned paper
2. Cut a piece of cream cardstock 2 in high x 1 ¼ inch wide
3. Now use the scallop sentiment punch to cut 9 4cm strips of cream cardstock.
4. Use these to build layers on the cream strip of cardstock (staggering the scallops)
5. Once completely covered trim edges and round corners with corner edger
6. Put some double sided tape on the cotton  reel and wrap with  black thread
7. Use pliers to trim the pins and add to cotton reel.
8. Attach scallop piece to page then using strong adhesive to attach the reel to the  cream strip
9. Trim down the quote and attach sideways.

Insert 9

1. Add a photo of choice and add some diamantes

 

 

 

To create the mini roof trace the template from chipboard and cover with cream cardstock and add 2 buttons.
