Hi Roadies! I'm back to share a project I made with one of my favorite Maya Road albums. I guess growing up in England has something to do with my love for tea and teapots. Whatever the reason, I was super excited when Maya Road released their Tea Pot Chipboard Album.
Here's the album in it raw form. One of the things I like about it is that you have the basic teapot shape and then cute little spoons, teacups and teabags cutouts on the back and front pages. Perfect for embellishing pages in your album.
But don't just think albums - The possibilities are endless! Here's an example of a project I did a while ago. A teapot gift box / pin cushion.
And here's another project, a teapot clock or a "clockpot" as my little girl likes to call it. When I first created this for CHA, I wasn't completely happy with it. So when I got it back last month, I made a few minor changes. Here it is completed.
To get the thickness of the teapot, I glued 4 pages together for the back and 4 pages for the front. Then mini spools were used as spacers. Here's an example of what I mean using a T-Shirt Coaster Book.
I then used some cardboard (from a cereal packet) and glued it around the edges, before it was covered in patterned paper and other fun embellishments.
The roof was also made out of some cardboard which was then attached to the Vintage Wood Rulers.
Thick strips of chipboard (from a leftover album page) were adhered around the lower edge of the teapot to give it some dimension. Then a page from Mixed Scalloped Triangle Banner Album was glued to the back.
I used a piercing tool to poke two holes into the bottom of the clock. Then applied glue to about an inch of chain before inserting into the hole. Small metal hoops and wire were used to connect the beads, spools and chain together.
