Hi Roadies! Today I'm back to share an assignment I created for CHA. The assignment was to alter something with chalkboard paint and Maya Road goodies. After trying a few different things, I ended up doing this.

The wood box was originally a shadow box, but I removed the glass door and hardware, to make a simple frame like box. Although I love the chalk trend, I was a little concerned about trying to use chalk on a project that had to be shipped and then handled at the show. So I decided to cheat a little and use colored pencils, instead. The inside of the box was painted first. Then I used my Silhouette to cut out a border stencil. A white (Prismacolor) colored pencil was then used to fill in the border. The letters chipboard letters were also painted with the chalkboard paint and then colored with colored pencil as well.

For the heart, I stitched two Linen Heart Pieces together, to create one heart, then I stuffed it lightly with some Poly-Fil. The filled heart was then attached to a Scalloped Heart chipboard page.

After removing the glue from the back of the Lace Fabric Tape, I used some thread to gather it up. Then some craft glue was used to attach the lace around the linen heart.

As you can see trinket pins, leaf stamps and flowers were all used to form the letter "V"at the bottom of the heart. Then lastly a butterfly transparency was nestled in the center.
