Welcome to Day 1 of the Maya Road & Ken Oliver Crafts Swap! It's Melody here today and I have a Holiday Making Memories Shadowbox to share using products for Ken Oliver that make using the new Maya Road Dies so easy!
Of course with a blog swap, it's always wonderful to have a giveaway! Just leave a comment on my post for a chance to win! You can find all the swap details HERE. And be sure to stop by Ken's World in Progress for more inspiration.
The Making Memories Shadowbox has four compartments with four matching chipboard pieces. My first step was to paint the shadowbox in an ivory paint. Once the paint was dry I inked the edges with distress ink.
Merry, Christmas, and the Deer are die cut with three of the new Maya Road Dies. I cut each word twice, once from a light chip board and once from card stock. Before running the dies through my machine I added a layer of the Ken Oliver Stick-It on the backside of the paper, making the two layers so easy to adhere together and to the shadow box. The Ken Oliver Tool-it-All makes removing the dies cuts from the dies so easy.
To create the background I sponged black and navy blue ink on a light blue card stock and then spritzed the background with water. I embossed tiny stars with gold embossing paste and a stencil and added two gold stars cut with the Maya Road Wish Die from glittered card stock. To finish off the scene I added a Maya Road Bottle Brush Tree.
Here's a closer look at the three smaller compartments. At the top I added a Reindeer Metal Vintage Trinket, embossed with gold embossing powder. The little house is created with the Welcome Home Chipboard Set.
The last box is filled with some pretty Maya Road embellishments, a Maroon Red Felt Rose, Teardrop Pearl Center, Vintage Wood Stitch Scallop and Circle Charms, and a Christmas Tree Charm. At the top of the box I added Christmas greenery and a Gold Sparkle Sequin Bow Embellishment.

What a fun change of pace from all the fall projects! I heard some one say how many days until Christmas and my heart skipped a beat only 65 days Yikes!!! This is just what I needed to jump start my holiday brain. The trees are so cute, the 2 deer are fun and the roof on your house is fantastic. What machine do I need to cut your dies? Happy, Merry, and all that Jazz! Super fun blog hop! Thanks Maya and Ken your special folks!

That shadow box is absolutely stunning, and I love that your dies are colored. The only thing that could be better, is if they were purple.. haha I'm kidding, I do love the color they are. It's always nice to see something a little different. ^_^ I'd love to make something like this for my niece. Now that she's getting married, she will have to start on Holiday decorations for her new home. Thank you for the inspiration.
