Hi Roadies! It's Julia here and I'm back with day 3 of the Maya Road and Ken Oliver Crafts blog swap. Have you been having fun? We have and will be sad to see it come to an end.
Of course with a blog swap, it's always wonderful to have a giveaway! Just leave a comment on my post for a chance to win! You can find all the swap details HERE. And be sure to stop by Ken's World in Progress for more inspiration.
Today I have a couple card designs to share with you that feature both the brand new (and awesome) Maya Road dies and some great Ken Oliver tools that work perfectly with them. Here's a look at some of the tools and dies I'll be using.
The dies are a brand new product line for Maya Road and they are so much fun to create with. The possibilities are endless. These dies are a beautiful high quality die and even come in a gorgeous color. The first two sets of die releases are script words and holiday dies. They are lovely and intricate and work perfectly with the tools that Ken Oliver sent us to work with.
The Tool-it-all is perfect for removing the paper from dies. When using intricate dies, they can be tricky to adhere and that's where the Stick It comes in. Apply it to the back of your paper before die cutting. Die cut the paper leaving the backing in place. Once die cut you then have an instant sticker. Just peel off the remaining backing and apply to your project.
For this design I went with a simple and elegant style card design for the holidays. The background is created with white die cut snowflakes on a white background. This gives it an embossed look. I also wanted to share how well these dies work with other materials besides cardstock. The deer has been die cut from some wood veneer paper and adhered using the Stick It. The merry sentiment is die cut from gold foil cardstock and is a beautiful glam look for the holidays.
My next card also features the new Maya Road dies paired up with the Ken Oliver Stick It. The beautiful ornate doily layer is a die cut and is layered over some Maya Road embellishments.
Notice how delicate the beautiful love die cut is. The Stick It makes the perfect adhesive. It's all paired up with lots of layers and Maya Road goodies for a vintage look.
No matter what style you like to create in, Maya Road has you covered.
Thanks so much for joining us today and throughout the week as we swap with Ken Oliver Crafts. Be sure to stop by his blog and comment on this post and the other swap posts for a chance to win an amazing Maya Road Kit!
