We're excited to be starting a great monthly feature here on the Maya Road blog! We love finding people that share a love of crafting and Maya Road products. Sharing paper crafters and their creations with you each month is so inspiring for us and we know you'll enjoy them as well!
So let's get this party started! We'd like to introduce you to Gloria Stengel!
My name is Gloria Stengel and I live in beautiful, southern California. I am a Christian, the happy wife of Matthew (for 29 years), the mom of three (nearly grown) kids, and the owner of two cats. We are a homeschooling family, having homeschooled two kids all the way to college with the last one now in homeschooled high school.
My passion for paper goes back to my childhood. I have been hooked on paper crafts all of my life. I have always loved to color, play with paper dolls, and create "projects"! In 1990, I discovered rubber stamping and in 1996, I stumbled across "modern" scrapbooking. I love all aspects of paper crafting: card making, scrapbooking, mini albums, altered art, up-cycling, you name it! I am happiest when I am making a mess! It's the cleaning up part that I don't care for!
I have been on a number of design teams over the past eight years. I love to work with all sort of various products and supplies. I also accept guest design spots from time to time, and I am so happy to be the October Guest for Maya Road! I have a healthy stash of Maya Road products in my studio.
I have a Blog, a Facebook Fan Page, and a YouTube channel in order to share my creative work. Please visit my blog, Scraps of Life at www.gloriascraps.blogspot.com for more inspiration and for links to my other "hang outs."
And here's Gloria's fun Halloween design...
Good morning, Roadies! It's Gloria from Scraps of Life with you today, and I am so honored and excited to be the October Guest Designer here at the Maya Road Blog!
I have created a fun Halloween card to share. I used one of the Kraft 5" Square Note Envelopes on the front of the card. You can slip a gift card or treat right into the envelope! (Sadly, I could not find any chocolate bars to put in my envelope!)
I attached the envelope with the flap open to the front of a 5 1/4" x 6" top-fold card. The color inspiration from the card came from the Plum Purple Vintage Crafting Tassel!
I decided to alter some items to match my theme. That's the fun part about Maya Road products...they can be altered to fit your project! I sprayed the Cloud Vintage Lace Mini Mum with glitter mist and then rubbed the edges with a bit of black ink. What was a white flower is now a grungy, purple flower!
The Ornate Resin Frame was originally cream, but I "colorized" it with a dark gray Copic marker! Now, it is a spooky embellishment, perfect for my card. I spelled out my little message using Jonathan mini chipboard letters, also colored with a marker.
Thanks for stopping by today. Join me again on Friday for a sweet Christmas project!
