A big welcome for our November guest designer....Jeanne Jachna!
We are so excited to bring you another guest designer to the Maya Road blog! As we started last month, each month we'll be featuring a new friend of Maya Road and their beautiful, unique & creative style! This month we'd like to introduce to you Jeanne Jachna who is working her magic with some of our fab embellishments.
Let's get right to it as Jeanne introduces herself and then shares lots of wonderful details about her very romantic card design!
Hi! I’m Jeanne Jachna. I’m a married, stay at home mom of two young adults, and one very active Akita puppy. I live in Northwest Indiana near Chicago. I like to read, garden, and cook, but I have been completely captivated by paper crafting. I can’t resist a new set of stamps, bling, big bows and colorful paper. I love to layer on embellishments and trims. My time crafting is a sweet escape and a fun way to express myself. I started my blog, A Kept Life (link http://akeptlife.blogspot.com)
And here's Jeanne's stunning wedding card design...
I can’t tell you how excited I was to be asked to be a guest designer for Maya Road. When I’m making cards for friends and family I’m really a “more is more” sort of person – I want them to be delighted with every little detail on the design. If you’re a big fan of embellishments too, then chances are you’re already a Maya Road customer. I’ve been a smitten with their products forever and have come to associate trendy products, made of the highest quality with their name.
I started with a card base of white topped with a panel of embossed flowers. Next I created a smaller panel and die cut a heart (2 ¼ x 3 ¾”). I adhered some gold glitter paper behind the die cut heart, and then added a smaller white heart die cut over the front of the gold glitter one.
All the trims and embellishments are alterable and perfect for mixed media, but I thought I’d keep them “as is” for my clean white wedding / anniversary “Congrats” card. I love pairing hearts and arrows for love themed cards. My sentiment is from the Wood Thoughtful Sentiments pack. I stacked it on a Metal Vintage Trinket – Follow Your Arrow Clip.
Peeking out from under the raised heart panel is a bouquet of flowers made with with some Paper Leaves and Posies. I used a hot glue gun to hold them in place. I wanted to repeat the wood grain from the sentiment so I also added a Wood Slice. I can’t tell you how tempted I was to get out a wood burner and add some initials and a date.
The Pretty seam binding bow is topped with a pretty flower I cut from the Vintage Trims Mums. The 22 mm Bulldog clip looks formal in silver. The finishing touch was a sprinkle of adhesive pearls.
I know I’ll be so proud to deliver this to the happy couple – I think all the love I feel and care I put into making this are showing!
