Hello Roadies! It's Jill with another scrapbook layout using some fabulous Maya Road Christmas goodies! I adore the tiny Bottle Brush Trees and had to get them on a page.
I started with some mixed media on my background paper, which consists of coordinating patterned papers stitched together with my sewing machine. I cut my own stencil and used texture paste to add Christmas trees to the background.
This layout is all about the Bottle Brush Trees so I adhered them right to my page after giving them a haircut on the back side of each tree; I wanted to have a flatter surface to adhere to my layout with glue dots.
I used several Maya Road embellishments on my page: Oh Deer Resin Charms, Wood Holiday Tokens, Star Bright Clips, Star Pins and Vintage Tassels in white and pink. I wanted a very eclectic feel on this page, like the embellishments randomly fell in the perfect spots!
There is sewing with silver thread on the photo layers and around the die cut title, so I added a few hand stitches on the Star Bright Clips and plus some floss through the tops of the Vintage Tassels. I find using glue lines or dots really adheres the Maya Road embellishments to my pages securely, and a few stitches ensures the items won't move.
Adding dimensional embellishments gives this layout an entirely different look and feel! I think the WOW factor is on full blast for sure!
I added a few black and white splatters to my page and it was complete. Adding the embellishments in small areas with a bit of space between them makes each piece stand out. And the Bottle Brush Trees are the shining star on the page.
Thanks for stopping by the Maya Road blog today, happy creating!
