Each month we feature a new friend of Maya Road and their beautiful, unique & creative style! This month we are thrilled to introduce you to Heather and her beautiful creations. We adore her bright bold use of color, her fab photography and her amazing scrapbooking skills.
I’m Heather Leopard and I am thrilled to be guest designing for Maya Road. I was born and raised in the Lone Star State and live in Cypress, Texas with my family – hubby, 2 daughters, 1 bonus son, and 2 rescue dogs. I lead marketing and thought leadership initiatives for a major tech company but my real passion is playing with paper, glue and scissors. While I usually focus on scrapbooking layouts, I love DIY projects so I'm loving all the wonderful Maya Road goodies!

Altered ATC Box by Heather Leopard
I have a thing for keepsake boxes so when I saw the fun little wooden box in the kit I was sent, I immediately knew I wanted to make a spring themed box. It also happens to go with my daughter's new room - a cafe style loft bed with adorable little flower pots in the windows.
To create this I pulled out the wooden box, felt flowers and some fun Spring themed papers.
I trimmed the sides with a white and black script and then I covered the slide out lid with flower themed paper. I was a bit worried it might not slide back in but it slides in and out with ease!
Once the lid was on, I trimmed down a 3x4 card, added just a tad bit of a green frame and adhered it to the box using foam adhesive.
The last step was to add a border around the front edge and flowers on the front and the top. I positioned the flower on the top back just enough so that the lid could still slide out with ease.
I can't wait to give this to my daughter. She's such a sweet little thing and I just know she'll find lots of treasures to keep in it!
