Each month we feature a new friend of Maya Road and their beautiful, unique & creative style! This month we are thrilled to introduce you to Laurie Schmidlin and her stunning designs. Laurie's an amazing cardmaker and her use of color and wonderful attention to detail has really caught our eye! We know you'll love her as much as we do!
Hi there! I'm Laurie and am thrilled to be guest designing for Maya Road! I live on a cattle ranch in rural Montana (an hour away from the nearest small town) with my husband and five children. My family, my faith, and simple country living are all things that I cherish dearly.
When I am not out on horseback helping on the ranch or in my studio, you will most certainly find me with a book in one hand and a hot cuppa in the other! I have been playing with paper and stamps for over 20 years now. I'm mainly a card maker, but do enjoy creating home decor and gifts as well. Although I do enjoy creating all styles of cards, multi layered and embellished ones are by far my favorite ones to make! You can find me on My Blog, Instagram, or Facebook.

Mason Jar Love Card by Laurie Schmidlin
Maya Road Supplies:
I have a thing for beautiful embellishments! In fact, I love them so much that I often design my cards around them! That is how this card started. I pulled out one of the Bulldog Clips - Bronze and thought that it would pair nicely with some die cuts using the Notepaper Die.
For the focal image, I stamped the solid mason jar (from the Main Jar stamp set) in a light aqua. I then stamped the outline image using a light gray ink. I added one of the cute labels included in the same set and adhered it to the jar.
For embellishment, I added some stitching, sequins, and one of the flowers from the Resin Flower Set - Snow White.
Wouldn't you just love to get this card in your mailbox?! Absolutely stunning! Laurie will be joining us in a few weeks for another stunning project. Stay tuned!
