Hi Roadies! Maya Road has all their beautiful charms on sale this month and it's the perfect time to add to your stash!
My layout features the Ken Oliver Vintage Bulbs & Keys and Vintage Art Supplies charms, mixed in with the lovely Soaring Bird Charms. To begin, I used vellum and tissue paper behind my 3x4" photo, then added a clear sticker matted on vellum and tissue paper.
I fussy cut several flowers from a sheet of patterned paper, tucking them behind the top right of the photo and filling the top left of the paper. The subtle color of the florals contrasts nicely with the photo, allowing it to stand out and for the charms to be the center of attention.
For this layout about feeling personally ready to take off and fly, the bird charms and the Porcelain Pink Resin Nesting Bird are a true symbol of how I feel and what I want this page to mean. I placed the Resin Nesting Bird on a nest of white thread, nestled in the fussy cut flowers to represent feeling safe enough to soar.
The title is a mix of black alphas to tie in the black font of the sticker near the photo. I sewed through the small stickers for more texture and to repeat the stitching I did to adhere the Soaring Bird Charms. I also used glue dots to make sure all the charms were super secure.
A mix of Ken Oliver charms is placed on a single flower at the bottom of the page to represent the creativity and ideas I feel inside me right now. When machine stitching items like the charms, I hand turn the needle wheel to ensure I can control the placement of the needle and line up the stitches through the charm rings.
I added a bit of journaling on the left of the page to make sure the thoughts about my "right now" are documented.
