Hi Roadies! It's Julia here on the blog today. I'm sharing an altered canvas with a very shabby look. It was lots of creative fun layering lots of mists, papers and stamps to create a unique background.
This canvas is going to hang in my crafting room. I love soft colors so the pretty mix of pinks and greenish blues worked for me. Maya Road trims are huge weakness of mine. They are perfect for layering together and also work really well with that beautiful new fabric tape.
To create the background, I adhered layers of subtle patterned paper and some vintage sheet music to the canvas. Then it was time to paint, mist and stamp to my hearts content. The Vintage Wallpaper Stamp Set and the Ornate Vintage Butterflies stamp sets are so versatile that I find myself pulling them out for so many different projects.
My favorite part of this project was playing around with Maya Mist and coloring the stunning Vintage Edge Mum. It's been soaked up from the bottom for a reverse look.
Why not follow your creative bliss and create your own artistic canvas? They are a great place to try out some new techniques you've been wanting to try but haven't yet had either the time or the courage.
Happy creating!
