Last Day of the Show!

We will officially be done with CHA-W today. What a whirlwind! Here is a quick photo from our booth. We will be back next week to announce sneak peek week winners!

Day 6 - Maya Road Full Catalog

Day 5 - Some Funky Fresh Jive

Alright Maya Roadies; we hope our Sneak Peeks have got you dancing. You have made it to DAY 5 of Maya Road's Peeks. Tomorrow we will share with you ALL - that is right - ALL of the catalog and more DT inspiration than you can shake a stick at! For today - you will just have to settle for some new products.

Let's start with our Canvas items - in our last show, we sold out of our original Canvas Binder with envelopes - what about a brand new Square Canvas Binder?  This sweet album has has a chipboard binder base, 4 chipboard pages, a canvas cover (which you can remove) and 2 canvas envelopes. The album is about 5" x 5" in dimension. You get all of this for about $9.50 in the US.

And oh we cannot forget one of our newest items - this is our self adhesive FELT BADGES! We have 4 sets of felt badges - each set is embellished with beautiful stitching, bling and beads! The felt is super soft - it is a must have for any of your projects. These badges will retail for about $5 - a great deal with all the hand stitching and bling added to each set!

Day 4 - Are You Ready For More?

We hope you all have had a great weekend! We are back and ready to show you more peeks! There were a couple of questions about timing of products - all items that we have shown so far - except the trinket flowers will begin shipping in the middle of February. The flowers (along with one other item we are showing tomorrow) will ship in the middle of April.

Considering we are already towards the end of January, late February is not that far away!!!

Also there was a question about "recipe for a happy child" mini coaster album - well DT member - Lia A. who designed it for us will be sharing it on the DT blog later this week so be on the look out for it.

Today, we wanted to share with you some of our Chipboard Albums and Stamps. We are also going to throw in 3 other Chipboard Coasters as we didn't have the space to share them on Day 1. Hope you are ready for some more eye candy!

Let's start with our new albums - what about a new bird cage one?

This beauty is a huge 6" x 7.2". But you know here at MR, we always are trying to think up more ways to offer you value and designs that make you go wow - so while the first page of this album is die cut as shown and the middle pages are solid, guess what the back of the bird cage album looks like?

Yes, a bunch of birds for you to use for your birdcage! How cool is that?

Now we move onto our next chipboard album - what about a dress form one? This one has a die cut heart on the front and the leg stand on the last page.

For this dress form CREATE banner below, we had a couple of tips from DT member - Katie W - on it! You will notice that each dress form piece has the stand shown below:

Katie wanted something that she could hang on the wall and have the legs very sturdy also. Katie traced the legs on the bonus sheet of chipboard that comes with our Leaves Chipboard Sheet (did you know we had a bonus backing sheet on the back of these)? Then she traced the same legs onto the black card that some of our mini chipboards, mini sheers and chandelier beads come in like this one:

She then glued them both together and sanded them to get the look you see! Pretty cool huh?

And we had tons of comments on the Dangling Chandelier beads - check out this neat trick from Lisa P. (and do you see something you might see tomorrow in our last day of Peeks?). Yes you can alter the beads with Copics and Alcohol Inks. Or what about this idea from Lisa - cut the words out of an old book put glossy accents on the word then attached them to the back of the bead.

Day 3 - A Splash Of Color!

Welcome to day 3 of the Maya Road Sneak Peeks! We hope you have been loving what you have seen so far; today we are bringing you a peek at some of our very successful Trinket Line!!! There is so much to see and drool over here so let's get started!

How about some beautiful medallion flowers - these babies are about 2.0" across! They will come 2 colors/ package - brown/cream, black/red and yellow/pink:

 

Next we have our Ruffle Blossoms (and guess what there are ribbons that match these). The blossoms come beige/brown or pink/yellow. These are about 0.75" across.

Now how about some BEAUTIFUL Felt Pearl Blossoms? These are made of some of the finest felt and are 2" across. They come in 2 color sets like grey/pink, yellow/turquoise and brown/off-white.

And finally we have our cute Country Home Flowers. They are about 1.5" across. These cuties come in packs of red/black or brown/green:

Should we move next to our pins and hanging beads?

Day 2 Sneak Peeks - "RESISTING" the Urge To Get Misty and Inky!

So before we start Day 2 peeks, someone had a question about the cooking set of chipboards - we think you mean this one:

This What's Cookin' Set came out about 1 month ago and has been shipping to retailers!

Oh and before we forget, all the chipboard, kraft and envelope goodness you saw yesterday are on their way to our warehouse and will start shipping shortly after CHA!!

Today is Maya Mist, Ink and Resist Peek Day!

Let's start off with our Inks - we had a fabulous release with our 1" Ink Pads last time, but check out what we have in store for you this time - Maya Road 1" Metallic Ink Pads!

These ink pads are amazing as they are a wonderful complement to our chipboards. If you are looking for a matte metallic look on chipboard, check out what you can do here. Here is the silver one on one of our chipboard numbers:

Here is the charcoal one on a chipboard keychain (and check out the extra peek at the little bird - hmmm wonder when he will show up again?):

Here is the blue, pink, silver, bright silver and gold one in use. All you have to do is ink the chipboard with the metallic ink pads for an amazing look. Take the ink pad and swipe it on the chipboard two to three times to give it a matte metallic look. Or complete the look with some stickles or clear crackle paint!

Each ink pad is only $2.25 retail!

Now, along with these ink pads, we have a superb selection of 6 new Metallic Maya Mists!  The colors are Pink Grapefruit, Cotton Candy, Salmon, Tangerine, Blue Corn and Latter Metallic Mists.

Here are the new mist colors and how they look on chipboard. All it took was about 2 sprays per number to get this look!

You can also see we have been getting inky - check out this canvas we did mixing the Cotton Candy Metallic Mist with the Tangerine one with gesso - the colors come out amazingly soft and a totally different look than the mist directly on canvas or chipboard!

Related to this, we are pleased to announce the arrival of a new Maya Road product - Maya Resist!

This Maya Resist is a pretty darn cool product. It is formulated to work with our Maya Mists, Ink Pads and also regular acrylic paints! The resist comes in a bottle like this - please excuse this bottle as it is the only one we have here - our workhorse bottle. The rest of the Maya Resist are on their way to CHA or coming to our warehouse! Trust us, the bottles will be prettier when you see them in person.

You can purchase the Resist with and without the thin applicator tip as it is reusable.

The Maya Resist allows you to create a mask on most surfaces - chipboard, most papers, most canvas, etc. The Resist is a fluid product which allows you to create very detailed masking with the applicator tip. You can even create a mask with your signature - the fluid nature of the product allows you to write and doodle if you wish.

Here is a step by step example of what you can do.

Check this canvas banner we started painting with a mixture of Salmon Metallic Mist, Cotton Candy Metallic Mist and gesso.

Next, we used the Maya Resist and drew a heart. You can see that the resist comes out in a opaque blue color.

Next we allowed the Maya Resist to dry til it was a clear blue (about 10 minutes but will depend on the humidity):

Then we took some more of the Cotton Candy Metallic Mist and applied it to the canvas and wiped the excess off of the resist part.

Then carefully start lifting off the resist and this is what you see:

 

And gently peel off the Resist Mask and dispose of it and here is what you have!

How pretty and easy is that? Check out how this banner now looks all decked out (and hey is that an EARLY PEEK at a Maya Road Trinket Blossom and canvas banner?). We also dyed some yellow seam binding with the Latte Metallic Mist:

Here is another example of the Maya Resist in action.

We drew a flower on a canvas  with the Maya Resist and allowed it to dry til it was clear blue:

Next we used some of our Silver Metallic Mist and sprayed over the flower and wiped off the excess.

Next we started pulling off the Maya Resist mask - you can see how easily it comes off:

How easy and cool is that?

And we have one more peek for you - this one is sorta of a category by itself. About 5 years ago, we started making Maya Road Mega Bottlecaps. We had sold out of them for a while and decided to bring them back since we had so many requests for them. Our Mega Bottlecaps were almost 2" in diameter. Well, we wanted to bring in something even bigger and more fabulous - what about an almost 3" Super Mega Bottlecap? Check it out here right next to the 2" one:

Maya Road Peeks - Day 1 - Minis, Kraft and More!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to Maya Road's Sneak Peeks! The big tradeshow is next week and we are ready to go but before we do, we wanted to inspire you each day for the next 5 days with some peeks.
