THANK YOU to everyone who made our Sneak Peek Week so special. We did read all the comments and we will pick the random winners by Friday of this week. Thank you for everyone who asked their retailer to carry our items. We had an amazing show and we cannot be more grateful to you all!
CHA-S was amazing. Check out this photo of our booth before the festivities began:
It is always interesting as CHA starts with a procession of bagpipers that walk down each aisle of the booths before the show officially starts!
We had talked about some of our new trims right before CHA started and the wonderful things you could make with them. Here is a sample of some of the flowers you can make with our new pleated ribbons:
Our ribbons are very cool and retail for about $1.00 or so a yard. They are pre-plated and available in both satin and grosgrain like this. It takes close to 2 yards to make each yard of our pleated ribbon trim:
With about 18" - 24" of this ribbon you can create some FABULOUS flowers. Here is a list of supplies you will need:
1. Maya Road New Pleat Ribbon (in satin or grosgrain) - you will want it
in every color (18" - 24" per flower - this is all arriving next week)
2. Strong Quick Dry Adhesive (like Helmar or Beacon) or a Glue Gun
3.
Maya Road Foundations Chipboard or
Motifs Chipboard (you want the circles from here unpunched)
4.
Maya Road Trinket Buttons (we love Earth)
5. Maya Road Leaves (coming next week)
Start with all your supplies:
Step 1:
Put a big dot of glue in the middle of your chipboard circle
Step 2:
Start rolling your ribbon in a spiral in your hand, when you get about a 1/2" spiral put down on the glue. Hold til it grabs the adhesive and sticks on. You will need to work fast!
Step 3:
Continue adding the glue to the chipboard and spiral the ribbon around the circle. Keep wrapping til you come to the end of the chipboard circle and tuck in the ribbon and trim excess.
Step 4:
Now find a button you like and nest it in the middle of the flower - glue in place. Add the leaf to the backside if desired (you can also finish off the back of the chipboard piece with a piece of felt to cover it if desired or mist the chipboard piece first to match your flower and then create the flower.
Step 5:
Repeat for all the other flowers you want to create! Once you get the hang of it, this flower takes only 10 minutes to make!
Here is how the flower looks when you make it out of the grosgrain pleated ribbon:
Easy as pie. We hope you have enjoyed this tutorial!
These are heavenly! I love the mist and the doilies!!! Thank you for the chance to win Maya Road!!!
