Roadies we are so happy to announce that Jody Ferlaak has joined our Design Team! Here is a bit more that Jody wanted to share with you all about herself:
Hello. My name is Jody Ferlaak and I live in west Michigan. I love to start my day with coffee, creamer and quiet time to help prepare me to keep up with my husband and 6 kids. I also have a daughter in Heaven since 2001. My life looks different than I imagined it would when I graduated from college with a degree in media communications. I expected to fill my days with graphic design projects and print shop work, instead I find myself keeping up with laundry, meals, grocery lists and school projects. My love of paper and stories is what hooked me into becoming a scrapbooker back in 2006.
I had never scrapped anything in my life, but entered the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooker of the Year and won a spot in the Top Ten. I ended up with a trip to Vegas and met so many wonderful people {and I was blown away at all the products that I had no clue even existed back then!} that I knew I wanted to stay connected with them somehow, and to date, the people I have met through scrapbooking are the best part of the industry/hobby to me yet!
I am excited to be a part of the Maya Road team and push myself with their wonderful products in my creating as well!
And here is a peek at Jody's project she created just for us!
Congrats!

Welcome, Jody! I'll be interested to learn how you fit scrapbooking in with 6 kids. Finding time to fuel my scrapbooking passion is very hard for me!

Thank you for a nice welcome! I am happy to be a part of the wonderful Maya Road community! I love squeezing creative time into my busy life. It helps me enjoy all the not so lovely parts that come with having a big family...like folding laundry all the time! :) The paper on this mini book cover is Everyday Eclectic from Echo Park by Allison Kreft. One of my favorite lines of pp. I think it was released late 2012 or early 2013. You may still be able to find some online. Good luck!
