In a couple of days, we will be having a little celebration for my son's birthday. As I have mentioned before, he has been obsessed with Angry Birds and anything associated it. And since we didn't get a chance to have a real party for him last year (and he didn't even say anything about it) - we decided to make this get together extra special. My parents will be there. His cousins will be there. And I have been busy planning something fabulous Angry Bird wise.
So the last two months, I have been using this tutorial to make some Angry Birds for his party. And I finally finished them all this week (and some birds probably could benefit from a beak reduction but they will just have to live with it for now).
These guys will be the party favors for the attendess. There are a couple of birds MIA right now but they will join the party once we get it started. Noah and Olivia helped me pack them in paper bags tonight and put stickers to seal them so that each person will randomly be able to pick one.
One other request Noah had for his party was for an angry bird pinata. I haven't made a pinata from scratch since probably kindergarten but here is what I came up with:
Noah had originally requested a pig one but by the time I plastered this puppy up - he didn't look pig like. So I asked Noah if he would want to turn this into the centerpiece instead for his party and we can put all the goodies that would have gone inside around the bird so everyone can take some. He was very happy about that and I think he is wanting to hang this in his room when we are done.
My sis will help me decorate the Angry Bird cupcakes when she gets here. I debated making my own and frosting myself but decided with the time I had to let the experts at a local grocery store do that. I preordered cupcakes that were frosted in the angry bird colors so all I have to do is all the bits and pieces and each will look like a bird!
My dad and mom moved into their apartment today. When they drove off, I sorta felt like a mama bird watching her kids leave the nest. It was a mixture of sadness and relief that my dad is feeling well enough to be on his own. They aren't going too far thank goodness and we plan on seeing them a couple of times a week. My dad went to the doctor this week to see how the couple of hot spots of cancer on his bones are doing. And thankfully, the doctor says at this time he does not need radiation. We are so grateful every day for small miracles.
And we added 3 lovely new ladies to our design team officially today! We are so excited to have Angella, Melissa and Anne Jo join us:
They will be fabulous additions to the Maya Road family! I am so excited they agreed to join us.
With that said, I am off to finish off some projects for the party and CHA and figure out when I can hit the gym tomorrow before the mad rush begins at my house.
Can't wait to see party pictures!!!! Continued P&PT for your dad. Congratulations on the new addition to the MR DT!
