Well this December didn't turn out quite how I expected it to. Early in the month, my husband fell and broke his heel bone when searching around for our Christmas supplies. So this month has been a month of ER visits, surgery, hospital stays, and just in general a lot more work I have been doing to keep everything running at Maya Road and at home.
Here is David a day after surgery when he was home. And to be honest, with everything going on, I am just plain tired! Everything now has to be planned out if we need to get things done or around and such.
So along with work and everything we have needed to do for David's foot, I needed just to carve out some time to relax. I did do a 3 mile trail run that I had planned before David got hurt. Thankfully the ice was mostly gone but it was nice to get outside and just breathe and for 1 hour not worry about what I had to take care of next.
It has also been a month to remember for Noah. He has been working hard this last year with a 4th grade reading book I got him. This book is filled with 75 lessons complete with questions that he has to answer and vocabulary he has to figure out. I always believe there is no reason not to ecourage my children to do extra work if they have to. We work hard and we play hard. And I expec the same for my kiddos.
So with that said, Noah has been actively working to complete the last 10 lessons in the book before 2014 arrived:
So tonight, Noah was rewarded with a Lego Set he got at Christmas he could open:
Olivia has also been working hard with her reading lessons. She should be done in the next month or so.
The kiddos have also been picking up slack due to David's injury. They created all our Christmas cards this year:
I am looking forward to a fresh start to 2014! Here is wishing the same for you and yours!
